HARRY AND MEGHAN 'NEED A-LIST FRIENDS' IF THEY WANT THE PROFILE THEY SEEK

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle "need A-List friends" if they want the profile they seek, an expert has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their roles as senior working members of the Royal Family in 2020. The couple then moved across the pond from their home in Windsor to their mansion in Montecito, California.

After moving to the States, the couple began mingling more with famous faces. The neighbourhood in which they reside is also home to the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Katy Perry, Ellen DeGeneres and Ariana Grande.

But if Harry and Meghan want to be in with a chance of getting the "profile they seek", they need to make some new A-List pals, an expert has claimed. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, royal commentator, Richard Fitzwilliams, has said: "The Sussexes, to have any hope of the profile they seek, need A-list friends and supporters.

"A casualty of their rift with the royal family is the probable end of their friendship with David and Victoria Beckham, with whom they reportedly once were close," he went on, adding: "King Charles met with David Beckham and appointed him an Ambassador of his Foundation during a week when he could have seen Harry who was in London at the time. There is a dispute about this."

Mr Fitzwilliams added: "David Beckham and Harry go back over a decade. The Beckhams attended both William and Kate and Harry and Meghan’s wedding and are clearly among Britain’s top power couples. The couples reportedly got on Initially through contacts made through their staff. It was claimed that they grew close with Meghan wearing clothes Victoria had designed."

He then noted that the Beckhams were not invited to the Sussexes wedding dinner", noting that it "seems bizarre, though David Beckham attended the Invictus Games in Sydney where it has been claimed he was snubbed by Harry". Mr Fitzwilliams added though that David spoke warmly about Harry in 2020.

Mr Fitzwilliams went on: "There are reports that the problem between the couples began when the Sussexes suspected the Beckhams of leaking stories about them and there was a tense exchange. The Sussexes were not at Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding in May 2022.

"They are perhaps learning that, if forced to choose sides when there is a rift, there is no reason to choose them. What have they to offer a real power couple? You can’t get much bigger than the Beckhams and the Sussexes are unlikely ever to be as big."
