CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFINS SOLD AT ALDI RECALLED NATIONWIDE DUE TO UNDECLARED ALLERGEN
Check your kitchen for these muffins.
The Food & Drug Administration just announced an active recall on baked goods sold at Aldi. This is due to undeclared walnuts in the product.
The bakery item is the Bake Shop branded Chocolate Chip Muffins sold in 4-count plastic containers. The packaging displays a lot number of NF1 142Y and UPC 4099100048278. These muffins were sold at Aldi locations nationwide.
The recall was initiated after walnut-containing products were found in the muffins, which does not declare the nut on its packaging, posing a risk for those allergic. If you or someone in your household is allergic to nuts and you have these muffins on hand, dispose of them as soon as possible or return to your local Aldi for a full refund.
Those with a walnut allergy may experience symptoms like hives, nausea or vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea and, in extreme cases, signs of anaphylaxis. Call 911 immediately if you’re having trouble breathing, tightness of the throat, rapid heartbeat or have any of the above symptoms after eating these muffins as severe allergic reactions can quickly progress.
