- Taking a plunge in sacred waterways such as the Ganga and Yamuna is regarded as auspicious. On this day, believers bathe in holy water to wash away their sins and grant them success and prosperity.

- On this day, Lord Vishnu is worshipped in order to obtain the blessings of the Almighty for the redemption and cleansing of your soul from all sins.

- Devotees are recommended to get up early in the morning because it will draw positivity and divinity. By waking up late, one might draw negative energy, which is significantly stronger on Amavasya.

- On this day, avoid purchasing any food grains such as wheat flour or rice since they may bring you bad luck.

- You should avoid alcoholic beverages and non-vegetarian meals on this specific day. Try to stay pure Sattvic and avoid Tamasic foods, since they may bring bad luck.

- On this day, auspicious ceremonies like marriage, namkaran Sanskar, housewarming, and baby showers should be avoided. Avoid any auspicious rites on Amavasya tithis, with the exception of Diwali.
