ALEX JONES, 47, LOOKS RADIANT IN MINT GREEN MIDI DRESS AS SHE JOINS GLAMOROUS CHARLOTTE HAWKINS, 49, AT DAY FIVE OF ROYAL ASCOT

Alex Jones and Charlotte Hawkins led the glamour at Ascot races as they stepped out to fifth day of Ascot races on Saturday.

The One Show star, 47, looked radiant as she arrived to the star-studded racing day wearing a soft mint and white checked gingham dress, worth £790.

Her garment, inspired by the 1940s, cinched in Alex's petite waist with a buckled belt and featured a beautiful bow-effect draped neckline detail, which was backed with a plan cotton contrast.

She paired stunning ensemble with a matching veil fascinator which was adorned with frilled ruffles.

Adding inches to her statuesque physique, she slipped into some modest white court heel pumps which she paired with a matching clutch.

Following closely behind was fellow TV presenter Charlotte, 49, who commanded attention in a royal purple, satin jumpsuit.

Her eye-popping garment featured large puffy sleeves and a plunging neckline.

The blonde beauty paired her stunning one-piece with an extravagant floral featured fascinator.

For the glitzy occasion, she slipped into a pair of sparkly open-toed heels and accessorised with some rose gold feathered earrings.

She appeared in high spirits for the evening as she was accompanied by fellow broadcaster Mark Heyes.

Alex's stunning appearance at the races comes just hours after she admitted she suffers from 'terrible mum guilt' when her work interferes with her family life.

The TV star and her husband, Charlie Thomson share Teddy, six, is eldest, Kit, four, and Annie, three.

She said: 'I suffer from terrible mum guilt at times, but that's the nature of my work. I feel massive guilt about not being able to put the kids to bed every night, which is why Charlie and I spend as much time with them as possible, doing things that they will remember.

'Everyone has days when they're tired and would rather do anything else than a jigsaw puzzle or build a giant hole in the sand. Charlie and I work really hard and I try to teach the children the value of things.

'I tell them I'd love to be able to read them a story every night, but my work happens at that time, and I have to work so we can do nice things at weekends and eat the food we eat.

'They're too little to totally get it and it breaks my heart, but there's no way around it.'

Alex told how she has learned not to feel guilty all the time and instead tries to focus on doing as muchn as she can with her family at the weekend.

She said: 'You can spend a lot of time thinking about it and feeling bad, or you can think, 'Right, I'm going to do my work to the best of my ability and then I'm going to spend the entire weekend with the family.' All I can do is my best.'

And dealing with the demands of motherhood and balancing it with her busy work life, Alex has revealed her own little secret that she recommends to others who wish to escape for 20 minutes.

She said: 'I've also been known to drive to Sainsbury's car park, wind back the car seat, lie down and close my eyes for a while.

'People are probably looking at me, thinking 'What is she doing?' but I enjoy knowing that no one is going to ask me for anything and I can lie there in relative silence for 20 minutes before I get on with my shopping. I cannot recommend it highly enough.'

Alex revealed that while she she still has other ambitions and documentaries that she would like to pursue, for now she is happy with The One Show.

'People always ask me what I want to do next,' she added.

'I feel like saying, 'What do you mean? I'm doing what I've always wanted to do. Why would I hanker after another job?' Of course, I've still got ambitions to do other things, and I love making documentaries, but they will always be complementary to The One Show.

'I'll be there for as long as they'll have me and it will always be my main job.'

Alex was the epitome of chic as she posed in a range of stylish summer dresses on the cover of Women & Home UK.

The presenter looked sensational as she posed up a storm in a bright orange coord which featured a twisted bow bralette and a ruffled high-waisted skirt.

She accessorised her fabulous ensemble with some chunky gold hoops as she flashed a smile for the cover shoot.

Flaunting her classy sense of style, Alex slipped into a tailored pink playsuit which featured sophisticated padded shoulders and a plunging neckline.

One elegant snap saw Alex ensure all eyes were on her toned legs, as she twirled in a pale pink cape dress.

Posing by a window of a beautiful summer house, Alex posed in the beautiful garment as she tugged on her thick orange triangle earrings.

The One Show  sported a radiant full face of makeup for the photoshoot and her urban hair was styled in a bouncy bob.
